The journey to establishing IMA ART Fertility, a luxury surrogacy agency in Beverly Hills, began with a profound realization: the critical gap in surrogate mental health support.
While based in Hong Kong and immersed in the fertility industry, we witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by intended parents and surrogates. However, a pivotal meeting with a leading U.S. surrogacy agency during the COVID-19 pandemic exposed a disturbing reality. This agency, despite its reputation, apparently prioritized cost-cutting over surrogate well-being by offering minimal psychological support. Indeed, that support was narrowed down to one psychological assessment at the outset of the journey.
Exiting the meeting with this agency, I said, “Michelle, we can and will do it better than all these surrogate agencies ! Let’s bring our business to Beverly Hills and create the first Fertility Maison in every sense of the word, providing best in class inter-personal care and support for surrogates and clients. They all deserve this - we are creating the next generation, the most precious thing on earth”.
We were determined to create a different standard of care - something we refer to as Haute Fertility. Our vision was to establish a Fertility Maison that prioritized the physical, emotional, and psychological health of surrogates. We believed that ongoing clinical psychology support was not merely a luxury, but a necessity for a successful surrogacy journey.
In fact, our luxury surrogacy program includes many other firsts-of-their kind ; personal airport pick-ups and IVF clinic escorts ; branded goodie bags at the embryo transfer and multiple insurance policies providing protection not only for our surrogates, but also for their children and partners. An agency whose co-founders personally manage every surrogate interview and surrogate journey, 7-days per week, because pregnancy does not take weekends off.
This unwavering belief led us to relocate to Beverly Hills and establish IMA ART Fertility - the first and only Bespoke Luxury Fertility Concierge and Surrogacy Agency. Our agency is built on a foundation of empathy, compassion, plus a steadfast commitment to providing unparalleled fertility concierge support.
We align ourselves with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommendations for practices using gestational carriers and go beyond by offering continuous clinical psychology support throughout the surrogacy pregnancy. Importantly, our Luxury Surrogacy program includes one session with the Clinical Psychologist PhD after the birth of the baby, and ongoing support if the surrogate is found to be suffering with postpartum depression
